Saskatchewan SWAD Swimmer Kim Rust wins 6 Gold Medals
at the Windsor Classic Indoor Games

On the weekend of March 24 to 26, Kim Rust from Assiniboia, a member of the
Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins, traveled with the Manitoba Cerebral Palsy Swim
Club (MCPSA) from Winnipeg to the Windsor Classic Indoor Games in Windsor
Ontario. This is a SWAD meet that MCPSA attends annually and this year they
invited Kim to go with them. Kim was a welcome addition to team MCPSA and swam
very well at her first SWAD only competition.
Kim competed in full heats against 47 swimmers within the functional
classification system, of which 3 other athletes that share the same
classification number as Kim.
MCPSA coach, Karen Williams said: “Good racing strategies were used, strong
performances and excellent attitudes. Good work by all! Thank you to the team
for staying together to support and encourage each other and learning to spend
time and have fun as a group. Well done! It was a great weekend for MCPSA
swimmers; they were exposed to valuable SWAD competition from Canada and the
USA”
Swim Saskatchewan congratulations Kim on her accomplishments at this meet.
Great job, well done Kim. Keep up the good work!
