Michael Qing to compete in Global Games

Mike left today for Loano Italy to compete in the 3rd INAS Global Games. The INAS Global Games are one of the largest events for athletes with an intellectual disability in the World, and the pinnacle of the INAS event program. They take place every 4 years, one year before the Paralympic Games, and feature World Championship competition in 7 sports. There will be approximately 1500 athletes from 45 different countries competing in Italy.

A total of 15 swimmers from Canada are competing at these games as either a tune-up for the Para Pan Am Games which take place in Guadalajara Mexico in November or to help with their preparation for the 2012 Paralympic Trials.

Athletes will train for the first 5 days with competition starting on Thursday Sept 29 and will continue to Monday October 3rd.
