Shelby Stene breaks 27 year old Provincial Record
On the opening day of the Youth Cup swim meet in Toronto, Saskatoon swimmer Shelby Stene had a great start, swimming to 2 best times in 2 very tough races; 800 Free and 400 IM. In the 800 Free she swam a best time by 12 seconds with a time of 9:06.83 winning the Silver Medal. Then in the 400 IM she swam a time of 4:59.11 with another best time by 12 seconds and set a new Provincial record in the 13 & 14 Girls age category. The previous record had been held since 1985! This is the 2nd time that Stene has broken a 25 year old record.
Team Sask had a total of 10 swims today with 7 of them
being best times.

Madison, Shelby, Brian and Jacob all advance to the final in the 400 IM which takes place at the start of Finals on Friday November 30, 2012
Brian Palaschuk had a great swim in the 1500 Free capturing Gold for Team Sask.
Swim Sask selected a total of sixteen swimmers (8 female and 8 male) to compete at the 30th Annual Youth Cup competition. This is the first year that Sask has sent a team to this event.
Racing continues right through until Sunday night. Preliminary heats start at 8:30 a.m. and Finals at 6:00 p.m. EST. Watch for more great swims from this group.
